1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using the AgeCheck API website or service (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, waitlist members, and API customers. References to “you” or “your” mean the individual or organisation accessing the Service.

2. Description of the Service

AgeCheck API provides a privacy-first age verification API that allows platforms to verify the age of their users without collecting or storing identity documents. The Service returns a boolean verification result via a REST API.

The Service is currently in pre-launch. Features, pricing, and availability are subject to change before and after the public launch on 1 July 2026.

3. Waitlist

By joining the waitlist, you agree to receive email communications from AgeCheck API about early access, product updates, and the launch. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

Joining the waitlist does not guarantee early access or any particular pricing. We reserve the right to manage waitlist access at our discretion.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent age verification requirements
• Provide false information to obtain API access
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
• Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it
• Resell or sublicense access to the API without our written consent
• Use the Service to verify age for purposes that are themselves illegal

5. API access and credentials

API keys issued to you are confidential. You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your API key has been compromised, contact us immediately at contact@miaid.net.

6. Pricing and payment

Pricing for the AgeCheck API is set out on our Pricing page. Prices are in Euros (€) and exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Waitlist members who join before the public launch will receive their first month of API access free. After the free month, standard pricing applies.

We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing customers will be notified of price changes at least 30 days in advance.

7. Intellectual property

All content, trademarks, and intellectual property on this website and in the Service are owned by or licensed to AgeCheck API. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the API for the purposes described in your account registration.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result will be achieved.

Age verification is a probabilistic process. AgeCheck API does not guarantee that every verification result is accurate. You are responsible for determining whether the Service meets your regulatory requirements.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AgeCheck API shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the Service or other users. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
